A fellow RVer brought this to my attention. This is must knowledge for every RVer.
If a stroke victim can be treated within 3 hours, the effects of a stroke can
be totally reversed. The tough trick is recognition and treatment within 3 hours.
RECOGNIZING A STROKE - A true story Joan is recouping at an incredible pace for
someone with a massive stroke all because Bob saw Joan stumble - - that is the
key that isn't mentioned below - and then he asked Joan the 3 questions. So simple
- - this literally saved Joan's life - - Some angel sent this to Joan's friend
and he did just what this said to do. Joan failed all three so 911 was called.
Even though she had normal blood pressure readings, and it did not appear to
be a stroke as she could converse to some extent with the paramedics, they took
her to the hospital right away because they observed these 3 simple steps! * *
All RVers should learn these 3 simple steps! Symptoms of a stroke can be difficult
to identify. The lack of awareness spells disaster. The stroke victim may suffer
brain damage when people nearby fail to recognize the symptoms of a stroke. You
can recognize a stroke by asking three simple questions: 1 - Ask the individual
to SMILE. . observe if there is any facial weakness 2 - Ask him or her to RAISE
BOTH ARMS . observe if there is any arm weakness 3 - Ask the person to REPEAT
A SIMPLE SENTENCE - such as "It is sunny today" . observe any speech problem If
he or she has trouble with any of these tasks, - call 9-1-1 immediately and describe
the symptoms to the dispatcher - OR take them immediately to a hospital. After
discovering that a group of non-medical volunteers could identify facial weakness,
arm weakness and speech problems, researchers urged the public to learn the three
questions. They presented their conclusions at the American Stroke Association's
annual meeting last February. Widespread use of this test could result in prompt
diagnosis and treatment of the stroke and prevent brain damage. A cardiologist
says if everyone who gets this e-mail sends it to 10 people, you can bet that
at least one life will be saved. BE A FRIEND AND SHARE THIS WITH AS MANY FRIENDS
AS POSSIBLE. It could save their lives. This is worth reading and remembering:
1. SMILE FOR ME 2. RAISE YOUR ARMS 3. SAY SOMETHING SIMPLE, such as "I LOVE YOU.
NOW LET'S GET BACK TO SAFE RVing "Get ready to travel, avoid tire troubles by
following this tire-safety checklist: * Make sure all of the lug nuts are secure.
Use a torque wrench or get someone who has one. DO NOT guess. * Inspect tires
for uneven wear patterns on the tread, for cracks, for foreign objects or for
other signs of wear or trauma. * Pay particular attention to sidewalls for cuts
or abrasions. * Remove bits of glass and other foreign objects wedged in the tread.
* Make sure your tire valves have valve caps. * Set inflation pressures (Note:
The amount of air pressure you need depends on the weight of your fully loaded
vehicle.) * Do not overload your vehicle. (Check the tire information placard
or owner's manual for the maximum recommended load for the vehicle.) * If you
are towing a trailer, remember that some of the weight of the loaded trailer is
transferred to the towing vehicle. * Trailers should have the wheel bearings repacked
after being in storage for long periods of time.
| We
should always be mindful of the condition of our RV, however, consider a complete
check annually. If you need help (or not), this is a great time to visit the 49er
